SOURCE: KNEE SHELVES PANTHERS' BEASON FOR 4-6 WEEKS (12:49 p.m. ET)
Carolina Panthers middle linebacker Jon Beason left Saturday's game against the Miami Dolphins in the first quarter with a left knee injury and said he was told it was just a sprain.

"It's definitely not an ACL," Beason said.

Beason will have an MRI, and a team source tells ESPN's Chris Mortensen that Beason is likely out a minimum of four to six weeks.

ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen and The Associated Press was used in this report.

SAINTS KEEP BUSH, BROWN ON SIDELINES VS. TEXANS (8:22 p.m. ET)
New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush and left tackle Jammal Brown did not dress for Saturday's game against the Houston Texans because of injuries.

Bush has a calf strain that the team says is not serious. Brown is having pain in his upper groin and missed practice Thursday to see a specialist to try and diagnose the problem.

Bush had surgery in December to repair cartilage in his left knee, but had recovered from that procedure.

Pierre Thomas was set to start in place of Bush, and Jermon Bushrod was starting for Brown.

COWBOYS ROOKIE LB WILLIAMS LIKELY DONE FOR SEASON (3:40 p.m. ET)
Dallas Cowboys rookie linebacker Brandon Williams has a torn knee ligament and is likely headed for season-ending surgery.

Coach Wade Phillips said Saturday that Williams "played very well on special teams. We lost an outside linebacker that we were hoping would help us some this year."

A fourth-round pick from Texas Tech, Williams was injured while trying to make a tackle on a punt return in Dallas' 30-10 victory over Tennessee on Friday night. Victor Butler will replace Williams as the primary backup on the strong side.

Steve Octavien also is likely to move up in the rotation.

Also, third-string quarterback Stephen McGee sprained a knee while throwing a late touchdown pass and may miss about a week. Inside linebacker Justin Rogers aggravated a knee problem and may miss a week as well.

TITANS DEFENDERS FINED $12,500 AFTER BUCS GAME (2:02 p.m. ET)
The NFL fined Tennessee Titans DT Kevin Vickerson $7,500 and DT Tony Brown $5,000 for plays in last week's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to The Tennesseean.

Vickerson was fined for slamming Bucs quarterback Byron Leftwich to the ground, a roughing the passer penalty. Brown was fined for grabbing Luke McCown's facemask on a sack. That penalty negated a touchdown by DE William Hayes, who had returned the ensuing fumble for a touchdown.

Those two penalties bring the Titans' defenders' total to $22,500 through two preseason games.
