Langston Walker

SELECTED BY SEATTLE , ROUND 2, PICK 21, OVERALL PICK 53
OT | (6-8, 343, 5.29) | California
By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: Redshirted in 1997. Started from Game Two on in '98. Started the '99 opener at right tackle and the next 10 games at left tackle. Started at left tackle in 2000 before he broke his ankle in the fourth game of the season and started every game in '01.

Positives: Huge. Great size. Long arms. Big wingspan. Above-average natural ability for one so large. Can engulf a defender with his size, and when he extends and uses his arms well, it is a $25 taxicab ride to get around him.

Negatives: Has not really developed as it looked like he was going to when he was an underclassman. Lacks consistency and focus. Has almost no quick twitch and lacks quick feet. Generally bends at the waist instead of at the knees. Can look stiff and unathletic at times. Heavier than he needs to be, which hurts his quickness. Below-average use of hands. Does not time up his punches well. Will struggle to re-direct and can be beaten wide or with a good counter move.

Summary: Has great size but needs to play with a greater sense of urgency, learn how to use his hands correctly and get into better shape if he wants to play on the next level. Was once billed as the next Tarik Glenn, but he is not nearly as athletic, quick-footed or intense about the game.
