By Pro Football WeeklyNotes: Garden City (Kansas) Junior College transfer who started every game in '01 and had 48 tackles, including two for loss, and a team-leading 14 passes defensed and four interceptions. Started all 12 games and recorded 45 tackles, broke up 12 passes and intercepted three in '02. Also returned 20 punts for a total of 200 yards.Positives: Has quickness and speed to shadow receivers and is good in coverage. Has closing speed, good feet, range, hands and reactions. Flashes hit-and-wrap ability and quick-twitch movements.Negatives: Bites on play-action and double moves because his eyes are always in the backfield. Probably thinks more of his ability than most. Better in man-to-man on shorter routes and can get beat by burners and position-type receivers deep. Gets off balance when he turns and pedals at times. Is a little tight. Has junior-college mentality. Summary: Should be a second-day pick because of his athleticism and return ability, but must improve his hips and deep speed to keep up with NFL receivers.* Player biographies are provided by Pro Football Weekly.
