By Pro Football WeeklyNotes: High school All-American. Role player as a true freshman who played in every game and had 22 tackles and five sacks for minus-46 yards. Started 10 games at safety in 2000 and every game in '01. Has started at both free and strong safety. Had 106 tackles, broke up 12 passes and had an interception in 2000. Had 84-11-2 in '01. Led the team in tackles (126) and interceptions (four) in '02.Positives: Wright has good size with long arms. Has good range, reacts to the ball well and gets in on a lot of tackles. Physical taking on blockers. Smart. Reads the run and pass well and is quick to support against the run. On tape, you notice his balance, awareness and quickness. Has the feet to improve in man-to-man coverage. Aggressive and fights for the ball in the air.Negatives: Has some limitations in coverage and is not a head-on-collision type of safety. Is more of a drag tackler who doesn't strike, but grabs. Summary: Experienced, productive, versatile safety with good size and awareness. Physical presence should be felt immediately on special teams and has room to grow as a player.* Player biographies are provided by Pro Football Weekly.
