David Young

SELECTED BY GREEN BAY , ROUND 6, PICK 14, OVERALL PICK 179
DB | (6-1, 210, 4.6) | Georgia Southern
By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: Redshirted in 1998. Part-time starter in '99 and 2000. Started in '01 and '02 and won All-Southern Conference honors. Had 41 tackles, seven passes broken up and three picks in '99; 47-4-2 in 2000; 77-4-2 and three blocked kicks in '01; and 72-8-2 in '02 (including playoffs).

Positives: Has good size and strength and looks the part. Is a big hitter who will make the head-on hits. Strong run-support safety and solid special-teams player.

Negatives: Is a little stiff and struggles to turn and run with receivers. Is more of an in-the-box strong safety who will struggle versus the pass. Can't cover a slot receiver man-on-man.

Summary: Possible late-round pick if he works out and runs well enough. Should be a good special-teams player.
