DT | (6-1, 309, 5.27) | Iowa
By Pro Football WeeklyNotes: Top high school football player and wrestler from Florida. Had 25 tackles, seven tackles for loss and three sacks as a true freshman in 1999. Had 39-7-5 in 2000 and 62-14-5 in '01, when he started every game. Had 78-16-8 and was a major force in the middle of Iowa's line in '02.Positives: Great body bulk and power, as well as football intelligence. Powerful, massive and is as wide as he is thick. Has explosive strength and power. Quick to read and react. A solid two-gap run stuffer. Has a good feel for blocks and uses his leverage well to hold the fort. Workmanlike player and leader who studies tape and wants to improve. Negatives: Doesn't run that well and is slow off the ball at times but surprisingly agile and athletic. Not a quick-twitch player. Doesn't always go 100 percent and fails to close on the quarterback. Summary: Has a lot of upside potential in the right system, but he must improve his mental toughness and, although he played some end in college, he will be a 4-3 tackle or 3-4 defensive end at the next level. * Player biographies are provided by Pro Football Weekly.
