Jamaal Green

SELECTED BY PHILADELPHIA , ROUND 4, PICK 35, OVERALL PICK 131
DE | (6-1, 272, 4.75) | Miami (FL)
By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: Only played two years of high school football. Redshirted in 1998. Played on second unit in '99 and was part-time starter in 2000 and '01. Had 21 stops, five tackles for loss and four sacks in '99; 35-5-4 in 2000; and 47-7-6 in '01. Played in every game in '02 and had 49-8½-9. His nine sacks led the team. Added a lot of "good" weight after the Fiesta Bowl and dropped 40 time from 4.86 in spring of '02.

Positives: Speed-edge-type rusher because of his quick get-off. Is also smooth, athletic and has a great motor and burst. Is durable and can run and chase with the ability to make plays from behind. Has quickness and explosiveness but not great speed.

Negatives: Lacks strength and bulk to shed and play the run. Can't hold the point and gets wired to the blocker if he does not beat him with his first move. Does not look athletic enough when changing directions for a linebacker but might be too short and light for the defensive line.

Summary: Has speed, but it might not be enough to overcome lack of size, experience and technique. Teams will look at him as a situational rusher in the latter rounds.
