LB | (6-2, 256, 4.8) | Louisville
By Pro Football WeeklyNotes: Played defensive end as a freshman in 1999. Started five games and had 13 tackles, including three for loss. Top backup defensive end and rotated in 2000, when he started twice, and had 33 tackles, including 13 for loss, six sacks and three passes broken up. Moved from defensive end to linebacker in '01. Started every game except the East Carolina game, which he missed with a sprained knee. Had 95 tackles, nine for loss, three sacks, no interceptions, two passes broken up and one fumble recovery. Was new to the LB position in '01 and struggled with reads at times. Started eight of 12 games in '02 and had 90 tackles, 4%#189; tackles for loss and broke up three passes.Positives: Not overly instinctive at this point but should get better with experience and repetition. Also might be a candidate at defensive end. Has good quickness and speed coming off the edge. Seemed to see the light and came on last season.Negatives: Needs to improve his pass-rush moves and ability to vary his technique to make it as an undersized pass-rushing defensive end. Lack of experience at linebacker shows in late reactions. Might not be quick enough for linebacker. Summary: Interesting prospect to follow but has a long way to go regardless of which position he lines up at.* Player biographies are provided by Pro Football Weekly.
