Drew Wahlroos

LB | (6-2, 235, 4.75) | Colorado
By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: Redshirted in 1998 and played every game from 1999 to 2001. Dislocated his shoulder in the fifth game of the '02 season. Sat out two games and then played with a shoulder harness. Had 10 starts with 46 tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks, four passes broken up and an interception in '99. Started twice with 39-4-3-0-0 in 2000, when he split time, and then started every game at outside linebacker in '01 (72-1-1-5-0). Moved inside during spring practice. Had 85-2-0-3-1 in '02.

Positives: Was having his best year in '02 before he hurt his shoulder. Showed toughness coming back and playing with a harness. Can play with leverage and play over the tight end. Effective in short coverage. Smart, instinctive and intense throwback player who loves to play and should be an asset on special teams.

Negatives: Is not as strong in the lower body or as athletic as teams would like. A little stiff. More of a scrape-and-flow linebacker than a take-on-and-defeat-the-block type.

Summary: Achiever with a good chance to make a team and contribute as a backup who can play inside or outside and as a special-teams player.
