OT | (6-4, 300, 5.1) | Clemson
By Pro Football WeeklyNotes: Junior college All-American at Southwest Mississippi Junior College. Redshirted after coming to Clemson in 2000. Played every game in '01 and won the starting job at right tackle late in the year. Started the opener and four of last five games, including the Humanitarian Bowl. Started the first two games in '02 at right tackle but tore his anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in Game Two vs. Louisiana Tech, had major surgery and missed the rest of the year. Positives: Good athlete with quick hands and feet. Nimble and strong at the point of attack. Anchors on pass protection. Can block on the second level.Negatives: Coming off major knee surgery and has not played many games of major college football. High-rep player who needs to be groomed into a position. In the past he has gotten fat and lazy unless somebody stayed on him during the offseason. Plays too upright and will get top-heavy at times. Tends to fall off his blocks because he gets too upright and does not keep his feet moving. Vulnerable to an inside or counter move when pass blocking. Lacks great size.Summary: Athletic lineman who is probably best-suited to play guard at the next level, but major knee injury will throw up red flags. Developmental project.* Player biographies are provided by Pro Football Weekly.
