OG | (6-4, 310, 5.15) | Memphis
By Pro Football WeeklyNotes: Redshirted as a defensive tackle in 1998 and played in the last seven games in '99 as a defensive tackle, getting in on seven tackles, including two for loss, and a sack. Moved to guard in 2000 but was set back by a shoulder injury. Still was able to start four games. Ended spring ball in '01 as the starting right offensive tackle but began the year on the bench. Took over as a starting right guard in games Six through Nine, then suffered a season-ending ankle injury. Returned to action last year, when he started 12 games at guard and was invited to participate in the Hula Bowl.Positives: Size-speed-strength guy with excellent weight-room numbers. Very strong and powerful and plays with heavy hands. Can really jar the defender with his hand punch. Is able to muscle and maul and gets off the ball quickly. Can run, pull and anchor and works to finish his blocks.Negatives: Better in line than in space and has lateral limitations. Falls off blocks and is a little stiff. Will be a much better fit inside at guard. Staying healthy has been a problem.Summary: Has good size, speed and upside but is a converted defensive tackle with an injury-riddled past. Could develop into a solid backup if he gets a chance.* Player biographies are provided by Pro Football Weekly.
