Scott Tercero

SELECTED BY MINNESOTA , ROUND 6, PICK 19, OVERALL PICK 184
OG | (6-3, 303, 5.22) | California
By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: Started eight games as a true freshman in 1999. Missed Washington State game with a pulled hamstring. Missed the start of the 2000 season after having arthroscopic knee surgery during the summer but returned for the Illinois game and started every game after at less than 100 percent. Started all 11 games in '01 at right guard. Started all 12 games in '02. Won team strength award for "Lifter of the Year" and was named team's most valuable offensive lineman. Named second-team All-Pac 10 as a senior.

Positives: Tall and has growth potential. Could add 20-25 pounds. Gets good leverage. Has better-than-average speed and good athletic ability. Can slide and move well laterally. Understands blocking angles. Smart on and off the field. Quick hands and feet. A real battler.

Negatives: Lacks bulk strength, power and explosiveness and gets bull-rushed. Does not have great hip explosion and can improve as a run blocker.

Summary: May be best-suited to play center because of his lack of size. Tercero has the quickness and agility to be an NFL starter if he can stay healthy and work hard in the weight room, but he will take time to develop.
