By Pro Football WeeklyNotes: UCLA transfer who won the starting job in the spring. Redshirted at UCLA in 1998. Completed 33-of-63 passes for 388 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions in '99, when he played in four games and started against USC. Started the first four games in 2000 before tearing the labrum in his left throwing shoulder. Had completed 60-120-688-4-2 before the injury and was 15-21-160-2 in the second half of the Bruins' dramatic, second-half comeback win vs. Michigan. Could not throw in the spring of '02 coming off shoulder surgery and had some problems in the fall, when he completed 44-76-592-5-3.Positives: Lefty with thick body and good size. Hard worker with good intangibles. Good frame. Adequate arm strength and accuracy. Good arm. Flashes some skills.Negatives: Didn't stand out at UCLA. Lacked consistency and playing experience. Can be erratic and slow to find secondary receivers. Does not have a big, downfield gun.Summary: Has some tools but his shoulder injury may have hindered his shot at a pro career.* Player biographies are provided by Pro Football Weekly.
