By Pro Football WeeklyNotes: Redshirted in 1998. Played in two games and completed 15-of-33 passes for 177 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions in '99. Tore his anterior cruciate ligament in the 2000 spring game and missed the entire season. Started two games and played in nine of 11 contests in '01. Completed 80-128-801-2-2 that season. Averaged 285 passing yards in '02, when he started all 12 games and completed 275-451-3,418-26-17 and rushed 62-116-1. Didn't show well against his toughest competition, Washington State, in the opener, throwing for 155 yards. Topped 300 yards passing in five games, including a four-TD game vs. Brigham Young.Positives: Good enough size and a decent arm. Is aware in the pocket and can be accurate. Shows good judgment. Very productive in team's offensive system.Negatives: Hot-and-cold passer who only produced one season. Lacks mobility and seems to be a product of the system. Played in a pass-happy system and doesn't have outstanding size or arm strength. Had his favorite targets and didn't always make it past primary reads.Summary: Could fit in a wide-open, passing offense, but is merely a dink-and-dunk passer who must improve his arm strength.* Player biographies are provided by Pro Football Weekly.
