Jeremi Johnson

SELECTED BY JACKSONVILLE , ROUND 4, PICK 22, OVERALL PICK 118
RB | (5-11, 260, 4.9) | Western Kentucky
By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: Transferred to Western Kentucky from Indiana prior to 2002 season. High school All-American. Freshman All-Big Ten in '99, when he started four of 11 games and carried 69 times for 282 yards and two touchdowns and caught 10 passes for 90 yards and a touchdown. Rotated with senior De'Wayne Hogan in 2000, carrying 20-103-2 and catching 11-83-0. Started all but one game in '01, his best season. Rushed 95-546-7 and caught 16-213-1. In '02, he rushed 102-637-2 and caught 23-310-2 in 15 games.

Positives: Is massive, durable and productive. Has initial burst and quickness and burst to elude. Runs strong inside and maintains a good pad level. Has good vision and is tough to tackle because he keeps his feet moving. Does have some flexibility and can make the tough catch. Is a good lead blocker and adequate in blitz pickup. Has the feet, power and balance to be an I-back in a power offense, where he could be his own blocker.

Negatives: Can be immature and has some character and work-ethic questions. Gets out of shape. Needs to pay attention to detail. Can be slow to and through the hole as the ballcarrier.

Summary: Has a chance to become a premier NFL fullback if he keeps his weight between 250-260 pounds and displays a better work ethic.
