Ronald Bellamy

WR | (6-0, 208, 4.56) | Michigan
By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: High school All-American who reportedly had track bests of 10.59 in the 100 meters and 21.69 in the 200 meters. Lettered as a true freshman in 1999, with most of his action coming at the end of the year, when he lined up at cornerback. Went back to offense in 2000 and started six times, catching seven passes for 106 yards and two TDs and returning 27 punts for 297 yards and zero TDs. Also carried the ball 11 times for 99 yards and zero TDs. Started all but two games in '01 and caught 14-252-2. Made nine starts as a senior in '02 and missed the Western Michigan game with a shoulder injury, catching a career-high 46-530-5.

Positives: Has the ability and speed to get deep. Has adequate-plus size and strength, good speed and quickness and soft, natural hands. Is a good student and leader. His cuts are sharp, and he can return punts. Solid hands. Good route-runner. Good leaper who goes up for ball and has some elusiveness.

Negatives: More quick than fast. No vertical threat. Can't get separation deep. Never more than a secondary receiver in college. Would appear to have the tools, but he has not been as productive as scouts would like. Lacks initial quickness and gets off the ball slowly at times.

Summary: Short-to-intermediate receiver who lacks the special qualities to play at the next level. Does not have great size, speed and experience and will have to make a mark on special teams to stick.
