Dave Kircus

SELECTED BY HOUSTON , ROUND 6, PICK 10, OVERALL PICK 175
WR | (6-1, 180, 4.6) | Grand Valley State
By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: Caught 27 passes for 535 yards and five touchdowns and returned 14 punts for 131 yards as a second-year freshman in 1999 despite missing two games. Caught 56-967-8 and returned punts 18-219 with one touchdown in 2000. In '01, caught 81-1,682-22 and returned punts 31-359-0. Second-leading scorer in NCAA Division II with 28 touchdowns and 170 points during the regular season. In '02, caught 77-1,341-35 in 14 games (including postseason). Won MVP honors in Hula Bowl and Paradise Bowl postseason all-star games.

Positives: Dominated on this level. Makes big plays and comes up big in big games. Plays much faster than timed speed. Nobody on this level can cover him. Can run after the catch and return punts.

Negatives: On the thin and narrow side. Lacks strength and timed speed and may have trouble beating the bump. Has not faced many good defensive backs on his level.

Summary: Computer numbers don't add up, but he dominated on his level of competition in college and runs right by people.
