Antwone Savage

WR | (5-11, 192, 4.51) | Oklahoma
By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: Caught 31 passes for 426 yards and a touchdown as a freshman, with 254 of his receiving yards coming after the catch. Coaches' second-team All-Big 12 wide receiver in 2000, when he caught 48-598-3 and returned 10 kickoffs for 193 yards. Caught 34-446-5 and returned 14 kickoffs for 428-1 in '01. Started 14-of-14 games in '02, catching 35-438-4 with a long of 56. Carried 2-18 and returned 12 kicks 316-0 for a 26.3-yard average with a long of 81.

Positives: Quick with good speed. Excellent balance and body control. Good, but not great, hands. Very good athletic ability and good quickness. Runs good patterns with good speed and can adjust to the ball. Good kickoff returner. Makes big plays and can pluck and snatch the ball. Team's best receiver with big-play ability. Dangerous runner and returner with good vision and some make-you-miss ability.

Negatives: Inconsistent hands, release and explosiveness down the field. Can catch with hands but not great pluck and snatch. Will cradle some balls. Takes long strides. Average blocker who sustains blocks. Lacks polish. Needs work on route running and blocking.

Summary: Good athlete who is a better returner than receiver and should be a second-day pick.
