Jovanovski, McDonald named as replacements

NEW YORK -- Defenseman Ed Jovanovski of the Phoenix Coyotes and center Andy McDonald of the Anaheim Ducks have been added to the Western Conference All-Star team.

Jovanovski replaces injured Ducks defenseman Scott Niedermayer and McDonald takes the place of Detroit Red Wings winger Henrik Zetterberg.

The 30-year-old Jovanovski will be appearing in his fourth All-Star Game. He leads Coyotes defensemen in scoring with 27 points (11-16 assists) in 42 games and ranks second on the club in average ice time per game (23:14).

The 29-year-old McDonald will be making his first All-Star appearance in his sixth NHL season. He ranks second on the Ducks in scoring with 45 points (12-33) in 49 games.
