Edmonton Oilers forwards Ales Hemsky and Jordan Eberle will skip All-Star Weekend, the team announced Monday.

Hemsky is dealing with the after-effects of a concussion, while Eberle is recovering from an ankle injury.

Hemsky was selected to play in the All-Star Game and Eberle, a rookie, was chosen to compete in the skills competition.

Hemsky is second on the Oilers in points with 29, despite playing in just 32 of 47 games.

The Oilers are 14-25-8 and currently sit in the Western Conference basement with 36 points.
