Defender is Tulsa goalie's sister
TULSA, Okla. -- Defender Angela Ruggiero will become the first woman to play in a Central Hockey League at a position other than goalie, the Tulsa Oilers announced Friday.
Ruggiero, who won the Patty Kazmaier Award last year as the NCAA's top women's hockey player, will play Jan. 28 when the Oilers face Rio Grande Valley.
Ruggiero, who also played in the 1998 and 2002 Olympics, is the sister of Tulsa goalie Bill Ruggiero.
