Tallon has been assistant GM since 2003

Dale Tallon is to be named general manager of the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday, sources told ESPN's Darren Pang.

Tallon will replace Bob Pulford, a senior vice president who was named interim GM and later had the "interim" tag removed after the club fired Mike Smith in October of 2003.

Tallon, who was a television and radio analyst for the Blackhawks, had served as assistant general manager under Pulford since Nov. 5, 2003. He also previously spent four years as the team's director ...
