Wild hire baseball writer as hockey operations director

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Minnesota Wild hired sports writer Chris Snow on Wednesday to be their new director of hockey operations.

Snow, 24, who covers the Red Sox for the Boston Globe, will begin his new job later this summer.

"I always have believed that you get really talented people and put them in the right environment and don't constrict it -- see what you get from it," team president and general manager Doug Risebrough said. "Where he came from is really academic."
