Avalanche sign forward Stastny, defenseman Klee
DENVER -- The Colorado Avalanche signed forward Paul Stastny on Monday and agreed to terms with veteran defenseman Ken Klee.
Stastny, 20, a standout at the University of Denver for two seasons, signed a multiyear contract with the Avalanche. Terms were not disclosed, but the deal means Stastny will begin his professional career with the same franchise as his father, Peter Stastny, who signed with Quebec in 1980.
Stastny had 36 goals and 62 assists in just two seasons at Denver.
