LeClair assigned to AHL, run with Penguins likely done
PITTSBURGH -- John LeClair has probably played his final game with the Penguins.
The 17-year veteran cleared waivers and was assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on the AHL, the Penguins' top farm club on Saturday.
LeClair was placed on waivers Thursday after being a healthy scratch for two of the Penguins' previous six games. Any team claiming him would have been responsible for the balance of his $1.5 million salary this season.
