Canadiens GM returns to work after daughter's death
MONTREAL -- Canadiens general manager Bob Gainey is back at work following the death of his daughter, who was swept overboard last month while working on a tall ship in the Atlantic.
Gainey, a Hall of Fame defenseman, returned to his Bell Centre office in recent days after a leave, team spokesman Donald Beauchamp said Tuesday. Assistant GM Pierre Gauthier filled in for Gainey during his absence.
