Two-time Cup winner replaces Stefan, who will coach OHL team

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Carolina Hurricanes announced Tom Barrasso would be the team's goaltending coach, replacing Greg Stefan, who resigned to coach the Ontario Hockey League's Plymouth Whalers.

Barrasso, an 18-year veteran who won the Stanley Cup twice with Pittsburgh in the 1990s, will coach the club's NHL-level goalies while also serving as director of goalie development, a position he took this fall, working with prospects in the Hurricanes' system.
