Lightning sign former Rangers defenseman Malik to one-year deal
TAMPA, Fla. -- Defenseman Marek Malik has signed a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The team announced the deal, worth $1.25 million, on Thursday. The Czech Republic native played in 42 games with the New York Rangers last season. He had two goals and 10 points.
"We are thrilled to have signed Marek to a contract," Lawton said. "He is a big body, at 6-foot-5 220 pounds, that will add to our overall defensive play and give us veteran leadership on the blue line."
