Isles' Sillinger out for season
UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- New York Islanders center Mike Sillinger underwent hip surgery for the second time in a year and will miss the remainder of the season, the team said Tuesday.
The 37-year-old forward, who played in only seven games this season, had hip resurfacing surgery in New York on Monday. Last February, Sillinger had a microfracture procedure on his hip that forced him to sit out the final 29 games of last season and the first 24 of this one.
