Sources: Flames-Rangers deal in limbo

A proposed trade between the New York Rangers and Calgary Flames remained in limbo Monday and it was unclear whether the deal would go through at all.

Two sources close to the tentative deal told ESPN.com that the Rangers were ready to ship forwards Chris Higgins and Ales Kotalik to the Flames in exchange for center Olli Jokinen and rugged winger Brandon Prust. A source close to the situation said early Monday afternoon that nothing was imminent.
