Flyers sign goalie Ilya Bryzgalov

The Philadelphia Flyers signed goalie Ilya Bryzgalov on Thursday, hours after trading Jeff Carter and Mike Richards to clear salary-cap room.

A source told ESPN.com that the nine-year deal is worth $51 million -- $10 million in 2011-12; $6.5 million in 2012-13; $8 million in both 2013-14 and 2014-15; $5.5 million in both 2016-17 and 2017-18; $2.25 million in 2018-19; and $1.25 million in 2019-20.
