San Jose Sharks: The Sharks on Tuesday recalled forward Todd Harvey, who has spent the last four seasons with San Jose but was sent to the minors after a poor training camp.
The Sharks had an extra roster spot after trading third-string goalie Miikka Kiprusoff to Calgary on Sunday.
Harvey, a nine-year NHL veteran, had been playing at Cleveland in the AHL, where he led his team with six goals in 13 games.
Harvey also has played for the New York Rangers and Dallas. He has 207 points in 561 NHL games.
Columbus Blue Jackets: Defenseman Duvie Westcott was put on injured reserve with an injured ankle.
Westcott re-injured his ankle Friday night against Boston and the Blue Jackets placed him on the injured list retroactive to that game. He will be sidelined indefinitely.
Westcott, 26, has appeared in eight games this season and has two assists. He missed eight games earlier in the year with a similar ankle bruise.
Westcott has totaled nine points in 51 career NHL games.
New Jersey Devils: The Devils assigned Sean Brown to Albany of the AHL after the veteran defenseman cleared waivers.
Brown, signed as a free agent in the offseason, played in four games with the Devils. The 27-year-old also has played for Edmonton and Boston in his 354-game career.
The Devils also assigned defenseman Phil Cole to Albany.
Cole split his first professional season between Albany and Columbus (Ga.) of the ECHL. He skated in four games with the River Rats and competed in 51 games for the Cottonmouths, totaling four goals and five assists.
Cole, 21, was New Jersey's eighth choice, the 125th overall, in the 2000 NHL draft.
