Ozolinsh will miss 12 weeks after surgery
Mighty Ducks defenseman Sandis Ozolinsh will undergo surgery on his left shoulder Friday morning in Los Angeles and will miss up to three months of action.
The surgery will be to repair a tear of the pectoralis muscle and will be performed by Dr. Ronald Glousman.
It is estimated that Ozolinsh will return to the lineup 10-12 weeks following surgery. He was injured December 19 against Colorado and has missed four games thus far. The news comes at a bad time for the Ducks, who will be without defenseman Niclas Havelid in the next few days. He plans to fly home to be with his wife Anna, who is expecting twins.
