COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Columbus Blue Jackets traded one of their original players, right wing-defenseman Jean-Luc Grand-Pierre, to the Atlanta Thrashers on Wednesday for future considerations.

Grand-Pierre, 26, has zero points and 12 penalty minutes in 16 games with Columbus this season. He's also played four games for Syracuse of the AHL.

Grand-Pierre was acquired from Buffalo before the Blue Jackets' inaugural season in 2000-01. He has four goals, 11 assists and 271 penalty minutes in 229 NHL games.
