Veteran center has broken foot

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Columbus Blue Jackets placed veteran
center Andrew Cassels on the injured reserve list Saturday with a
broken foot.

The team also recalled defenseman Aaron Johnson from Syracuse of
the American Hockey League to take Cassels spot on the active
roster.

Cassels is out indefinitely, and it wasn't clear when the injury
occurred. He had five goals and 16 points and played in 38 of
Columbus' first 40 games before missing Thursday night's game at
San Jose.

Johnson, in his first professional season, made his NHL debut
earlier this season, and had one assist and in three games early in
December.
