Wanvig recalled from AHL

ST. PAUL, Minnesota -- The Minnesota Wild on Sunday placed defenseman Brad Bombardir on injured reserve with a strained left hip.

Bombardir missed Saturday's 2-2 tie at St. Louis after
aggravating the injury during Friday's 4-2 win against
Pittsburgh. Fourth among defenseman in average ice time at
20:36, Bombardir played just 6:28 Friday.

Bombardir, who sat out the final 20 contests of last season due
to back spasms, has one goal and two assists and a minus-5
rating in 43 games.

To replace Bombardir, right wing Kyle Wanvig was recalled from
Houston of the American Hockey League for the third time this
season. In five games with the Wild, Wanvig has one point and
eight penalty minutes.
