Center coming off stellar career at BC
Center Tony Voce has signed with the Flyers, becoming the first Philadelphia native signed by the NHL team.
Voce, 23, had 90 goals and 167 points in his four-year career at Boston College.
Last season, he was the second-leading goal scorer in the country with 29. He led the Eagles in goals, points (47) and power-play goals (12) and was tied for first on the team in short-handed goals (3) and plus-minus (plus-20).
Voce also won his second BC team MVP award and was a top-ten finalist for the Hobey Baker award, which goes to the best collegiate player.
The 5-foot-8, 185-pound forward recorded three hat tricks last season, giving him five for his career.
Terms of the contract were not disclosed Tuesday.
