Nashville also inks Hutchinson, Finley

Nashville Predators: The Preds signed defenseman Andreas Lilja and re-signed restricted free agents forward Scott Hartnell, defenseman Andrew Hutchinson and goaltender Brian Finley.

Lilja, 29, career highs with games played (79) and penalty minutes (90) last season for the Florida Panthers. The 6-foot-3, 228-pound defenseman had four goals and eight assists.

Hartnell, 22, was tied for second on the Predators with a career-high 18 goals despite missing 23 games because of injury this past season.

Hutchinson had eight points in 18 games for Nashville last season, while Finley spent the year in Milwaukee of the AHL.

Financial terms were not released.

Carolina Hurricanes:The 'Canes agreed to terms on a one-year contract Monday with left wing Erik Cole, who is coming off the best season of his career.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Cole, 24, played in 80 games with Carolina last season, establishing career highs with 18 goals and 42 points.

A native of Oswego, N.Y., and a former player at Clarkson University, Cole had 14 goals and 27 points in 53 games in the 2002-03 season before breaking his left leg.

The 71st overall pick in the 1998 draft, Cole has produced 48 goals and 61 assists in 214 NHL games, all with the Hurricanes.
