Washington gives all three one-year deals

WASHINGTON -- The Washington Capitals re-signed forward Stephen Peat, goaltender Maxime Ouellet and defenseman Dwayne Zinger to one-year contracts Sunday.

Peat played in 64 games for Washington last season, recording
career highs with five goals and 90 penalty minutes. The right
winger didn't have an assist all season. In 129 NHL games, Peat has
eight goals, 10 points and 232 penalty minutes.

Ouellet split time between the Capitals and AHL Portland. While in Washington, the 23-year-old goalie went 2-3-1 with a 3.12 goals-against average in six games. He was 15-29-8 with a 1.99 GAA for Portland.

Zinger played seven games for the Capitals last season and had
one assist. He also spent most of his time with Portland and had
six goals and 10 assists in 68 minor league games.
