Calgary goalie gets raise of nearly 270 percent

TORONTO -- Calgary Flames goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff was
awarded $2.95 million in arbitration Monday for the upcoming
season.

That's a raise of nearly 270 percent over last season, when
Kiprusoff earned $800,000 while leading the Flames to the Stanley
Cup finals.

Kiprusoff was 24-10-4 during the regular season and 15-11 in the
postseason, Calgary's first appearance in the playoffs in eight
years. He was acquired from San Jose in November.

Kiprusoff's award completed the league's arbitration process for
the summer.
