Gaborik could return to Wild lineup Sunday
Earlier in the day, Lemaire told reporters Gaborik would be out for 10 days. Later, the team said the coach had misspoken.
Gaborik has yet to play this season because of a nagging groin injury. He initially hoped to return to the lineup Wednesday night against rival Vancouver, but Lemaire said at the team's morning skate that Gaborik was not ready.
"Marian won't be playing this week," Lemaire said.
Lemaire said the team is playing it cautious with its most dynamic player to ensure the injury does not linger throughout the season.
"He feels ready to play, but I think it's important he takes time to heal well and be able to get into full practices," Lemaire said.
Gaborik said his groin feels fine and hoped that another few days of practice and rehab could have him ready by Sunday.
"It doesn't hurt to practice a couple more days," Gaborik said. "They want to make sure, and I want to make sure that it's ready. We want to make sure it's not going to happen again."
