Atlanta Thrashers: Prior to their contest against the New York Rangers on Saturday, the Thrashers placed goaltender Mike Dunham on injured reserve.

A former Ranger, Dunham left Wednesday's 2-0 loss against Montreal with a groin injury. Dunham is 2-2-0 with a 2.51 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage this season, his first with Atlanta.

In 362 career games with New Jersey, Nashville, the Rangers and Atlanta, Dunham is 131-165-39 with 18 shutouts and a 2.69 goals-against average.

In a related move, the Thrashers recalled defenseman Mark Popovic from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League. Popovic had one goal and one assist in three games with the Wolves.
