Thornton back in lineup after back problems
After missing the past three games because of back problems, Joe Thornton returned to the Bruins' lineup Thursday night.
Boston-area newspapers have reported that the Boston captain would return to the lineup as the B's host the Buffalo Sabres. Thornton has been out since an Oct. 10 contest against the Lightning with a strained back.
For the past week, Thornton has had a series of massages, treatment and rest for his back. He skated with the team Tuesday and says he feels fine.
"I feel a lot better," Thornton told The Boston Globe. '"What a week can do for you. It feels like day and night right now. I've really relaxed for the past six days, I haven't been doing too much. I've been getting massages and doing a lot of stretching and ultrasound. We've been hitting it hard for the last week and it's really coming around."
Going into Tuesday night's action, Thornton has no goals and four assists in four games this season.
