NHL suspends Blues' Drake for illegal hit
Drake on Saturday was suspended two games without pay by the NHL for his illegal check on Perry in Friday's 6-4 loss to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.
Less than four minutes into the second period, Drake delivered a hit on Perry that landed the rookie right wing on injured reserve with a concussion. Drake, the Blues' captain, will forfeit $12,408.16 in salary while missing St. Louis' games at Los Angeles on Saturday and against Chicago on Wednesday.
In 10 games this season, the 36-year-old Drake has one goal and four assists.
