NEW YORK -- Dallas Drake's hit on Corey Perry apparently
was worse than originally believed.

Drake on Saturday was suspended two games without pay by the NHL
for his illegal check on Perry in Friday's 6-4 loss to the
Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.

Less than four minutes into the second period, Drake delivered a
hit on Perry that landed the rookie right wing on injured
reserve with a concussion. Drake, the Blues' captain, will
forfeit $12,408.16 in salary while missing St. Louis' games at
Los Angeles on Saturday and against Chicago on Wednesday.

In 10 games this season, the 36-year-old Drake has one goal and
four assists.
