EDMONTON, Alberta -- The Edmonton Oilers placed defenseman Igor Ulanov, who has missed the team's last two games with a broken toe, on injured reserve Wednesday.

Ulanov suffered the injury in the Oilers' 5-3 win at Dallas on October 28.

By being placed on IR, Ulanov is required to be sidelined for at least seven days. Since the move is retroactive to October 29, Ulanov will miss Edmonton's next two games Thursday at Detroit and Friday at St. Louis. He is eligible to be activated before the Nov. 7 game at Dallas.

Ulanov has a plus-minus rating of minus-8 with one goal and one assist in eight games this season.

The Oilers also recalled center Kyle Brodziak from Iowa of the American Hockey League on Wednesday. He played three games last month with the Oilers.
