Bruins have yet to assign McEachern to AHL
The Bruins lost two forwards on Tuesday.
Veteran left winger Shawn McEachern cleared waivers and was eligible to be assigned to AHL Providence, although, according to the Boston Herald, the Bruins hadn't sent him there yet. If McEachern, who has two goals and four assists this season, were sent to Providence, he would have to clear waivers again if recalled by the Bruins; if claimed, half his $1 million salary would count toward the Bruins' salary cap.
The 6-foot-3, 226-pound Orr had 27 penalty minutes in 20 games for Boston this season. He had a goal, six assists and 279 penalty minutes last season for Providence.
During the exhibition season, New York defenseman Dale Purinton gouged Orr's eye and caused it to swell shut. Purinton was suspended 10 games without pay by the NHL and has since been assigned to AHL Hartford.
