Sharks trade Dimitrakos to Flyers for draft pick

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The San Jose Sharks traded right winger Niko Dimitrakos to the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday for a third-round pick in the upcoming draft.

The Sharks made their second minor deal in two days at the NHL's trade deadline, replacing the third-round pick they shipped to the
New York Rangers on Wednesday for left winger Ville Nieminen.

Dimitrakos came up through the Sharks' development system after the club selected him in the fifth round of the 1999 draft. He spent time on the Sharks' top line during the 2003-04 season when they reached the Western Conference finals.

But the agitating forward regressed this season, managing just four goals and 12 assists in 45 games.

The Sharks also activated enforcer Scott Parker, who has 56 games this season while recovering from a head injury. Parker has appeared in just three games all season.

San Jose also recalled goalie Nolan Schaefer from its top affiliate in Cleveland for the third time this season.
