SAN JOSE, Calif. -- San Jose center Alyn McCauley sat out the Sharks' game against Phoenix on Thursday night with an undisclosed lower-body injury, ending his streak of consecutive games played at 169.

The streak was the sixth-longest in the Sharks' franchise history.

McCauley has 12 goals and 12 assists in a disappointing offensive season, but the veteran leads the Sharks' forwards with 60 blocked shots. He has been battling the injury for several days, the team said.
