Flyers re-sign 23-game winning goalie Niittymaki

PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia Flyers re-signed goaltender Antero Niittymaki to a one-year contract on Wednesday.

Niittymaki, 26, was 23-15-6 with a 2.97 goals-against average and .895 save percentage in 46 regular-season games for the Flyers
last season.

The 23 victories tied for third among NHL rookies and were the most by a Flyers first-year player since Ron Hextall won 37 games during the 1986-87 season.
