VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- The Vancouver Canucks acquired left wing Taylor Pyatt from the Buffalo Sabres on Friday in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2007 draft.

Pyatt recorded six goals and six assists in 41 regular-season games last year, but missed 27 games with a broken wrist and another five with a mild concussion. The native of Thunder Bay, Ontario, added five assists in 14 playoff games for the Sabres last season.

The 6-foot-4, 227-pound Pyatt was originally selected by the New York Islanders eighth overall in the 1999 draft, but spent one year with the Islanders before playing the last four NHL seasons in Buffalo. In 308 career NHL games, he has 42 goals and 98 points.
